Certificate renewal
The ECQA "EU Project manager" certificate can be renewed:
every 2 years (to keep the 'active' state) and
every 7 years (to upgrade to the latest version which is tied to the EU programme period).
2-year renewal
The certificate holder must prove he/she is active and up-to-date with the knowledge in his/her field of expertise by renewing the certificate every 2 years. If the certificate holder renews the certificate, the register of certificates the status to ‘active’.
If the certificate holder does not renew the certificate, the certificate status is changed to a ‘passive state’ in the register of certificates.
Requirements for the certificate renewal:
evidence of active work in EU projects (cooperating in or managing at least 1 project) or
by participating in refresher webinars organized by ECQA-accredited training centers such as BICERO or
evidence of similar courses (live, online, webinars, etc.) attendance in the last 2 years (at least 2 courses/webinars in the duration of 4 hours in total).
7-year recertification (will be available in 2029)
The certificate holder must re-certify their skills every 7 years (in every EU programme period).
Requirements for the re-certification:
Live or online (updated) course attendance.
Theoretical exam (only updated learning elements).
Practical exam (only updated learning elements).
